The Polk Education Foundation and Polk State College Foundation have shared a special partnership throughout the years, with Polk Education Foundation helping to enable graduates of Polk County high schools to attend Polk State College by donating approximately $50,000 a year to the Polk State College Foundation. On March 22, 2010, Susan Copeland, Executive Director of the Polk Education Foundation and a Polk State College Alumnae, presented the Polk State College Foundation with a generous $300,000 donation representative of that longstanding bond. Created in 1988, PEF serves as the fiscal agent and manager of many educational programs for Polk County Schools. Led by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of community, educational and business leaders, PEF has raised and spent over $26 million dollars, enhancing educational programs for students with private and corporate funds.
