Polk State College Foundation Events

Thank you for your interest in supporting Polk State College and the Polk State College Foundation!

The Polk State College Foundation offers several different fundraising events throughout the year. These events help raise money for scholarships and programs for Polk State College students.

2022 Event Dates

John R. Alexander Memorial Clays Classic

Please join us on Friday, April 15, 2022 for the John R. Alexander Memorial Clays Classic. This event, presented by A.D. Morgan Corporation in partnership with Powered by Mahalak Auto Group, benefits the Polk State athletics program. The event will once again be held at Polk Sporting Clays in conjunction with the Florida FFA Leadership Training Center, located at 5000 Firetower Road, Haines City, FL 33844.

John R. Alexander (1936 – 2018) served on the Polk State College Foundation Board of Directors from 2008-2012. He recommended a sporting clays fundraiser to secure new donors and assist students. Since 2012, Clays for Courts raised more than $100,000 and introduced hundreds of new supporters to the Foundation. We are thankful to his family for allowing us to pay tribute to him by renaming the event in 2019 to the John R. Alexander Memorial Clays Classic.

The event begins at 9:00 a.m. with registration and breakfast, followed by a 50-target sporting clays shoot. Immediately following the shoot is a steak luncheon and the awards presentation. Ammunition, meals, and gifts are provided as part of individual and team sponsorship.

2021 Event Dates

Sip & Support – A Live Virtual Experience to Support Polk State College Student Scholarships!

On October 8, 2021, you are invited to Gather your friends and family for a delightful evening at home featuring hand-selected wines, artisan food pairings, and an exclusive, LIVE virtual discussion with a world-renowned winemaker and an award-winning chef, all in support of Polk State College student scholarships.

Each Sip & Support ticket serves two participants and includes three demi bottles of hand-selected wines from the Napa Valley, paired with a custom charcuterie board filled with delicious artisanal fare. These items are to be enjoyed while participating in a live Zoom presentation with winemaker Jean Hoeflinger and Chef Bob Aungst. During the event, guests will be encouraged to interact with Jean and Chef Bob.

Also included in the experience is the opportunity to participate in a silent auction, which will open at 9:00 a.m. on October 6 and close at 9:00 p.m. on October 8.

Guests should be prepared to pick up their wine and charcuterie from the Polk State Winter Haven Campus on October 8 between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Special arrangements can be made for pick up if necessary.
