Of all the gifts we can bestow upon one another as human beings, one of the most precious is the gift of trust. To instill in others the feeling that they will be safe placing their well-being and security in your hands, knowing that you will guard it with the utmost protection, is absolutely priceless. It is the unshakable foundation upon which strong relationships are built, both between individuals and within communities.

This precious trust is profoundly felt by our local community, thanks to the commitment and caring of Adamson + Company, P.A. The team within this innovative accounting and business services firm can be relied upon to put as much passion and dedication into serving its community as it does to serving its wide variety of local, state and national clients. And nowhere has this been felt more profoundly than at Polk State College.

The College and its students have been indelibly affected by the treasured bond that has existed over the years between Adamson + Company and Polk State. The devotion of this company to the College is evident through its generous collective giving to the Foundation, which totals $28,000 for scholarships and various college programs.

The strong philanthropic spirit of Adamson + Company is thoroughly embraced by its people, led by managing shareholder Eric Adamson, who has paved the way for the firm’s tradition of generous support of higher education. Both Adamson and shareholder Brent Parrish epitomize the strong ties of the company with Polk State. They have not only contributed funds, but have served on the Polk State College Foundation Board, and Parrish remains active as a Board Member and Chair of the Philanthropic Advisory Council.

On May 18, 2015 in a check presentation ceremony at Polk State College’s District Board of Trustees meeting, the Polk State College Foundation gratefully honored Adamson + Company, P.A. for their incredible philanthropy and devotion to Polk State College.

Bonnie Parker, Development Chair of the Polk State College Foundation Board of Directors, introduced Eric Adamson and Brent Parrish. She warmly expressed the heartfelt gratitude of her fellow Board members, the District Board, and the students who ultimately benefit from their leadership and generosity.

Adamson and Parrish expressed what giving to higher education means to them.

“It justifies what we do every day,” said Adamson. “I think at the end of the day, it’s not how much money you make, or what you own – it’s what you’ve accomplished out in the community. That’s what makes me feel good when I’m driving home,” he added.

“There’s a mission here at Polk State to provide something better for everybody, and seeing each year firsthand how Board members, year after year, are dedicated to the mission at the College, is wonderful,” said Parrish.

“It’s very easy for us to give time and money to an organization that has always addressed the needs of the community and its people,” said Adamson. “Polk State has touched the lives of so many people. It’s so moving to hear what some students have gone through, and giving them a second chance – that’s what life is all about. It’s an honor to be able to have an impact at such a great organization as Polk State College.”
